Position Summary
The Sr Manager Operations is responsible for the following departments: Goods Received, Warehousing, Production and Facility Management. As such ensuring an optimal and efficient operation of these teams in the spirit of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Reporting to Director Operations DFS Netherlands;
• Lead – in a coaching way – Goods Received, Warehouse and Production teams (team of 25-30 fixed employees); following DFS values;
• Ensuring that Pick-Pack-Ship and Production meet their planning and report daily results. Reassign resources where needed to balance capacity with planning;
• Securing and continuously optimizing quality and cost/efficiency of products/services provided; all in the spirit of Operational Excellence;
• Close interactions with other departments like Customer Service, Procurement, Expedition, Finance and Engineering;
• Ensure that EHS and Quality procedures/instructions are properly followed and embrace an EHS and Quality culture;
• Organize/lead Facility Management (preventive, certifications, manage subcontractors, access to building, alarm follow-up);
• Ensure that department is working in-line with work standards and certifications;
• Tracking relevant KPIs and continuously identify opportunities for improvements and value add to the customer/clients;
• Request, select, develop and evaluate staff to ensure the efficient and flexible operation of the function;
• Warehouse management and cycle-counting
Profile - Knowledge
• Direct people leadership experience of at least 8-10 years in a production environment;
• Experience in working with productivity and methodology tools (e.g. Lean, Visual Management) to increase departmental efficiency and effectiveness;
• Familiar with problem solving tools/techniques (e.g. A3, 5-Why, Ishikawa);
• Bachelor’s degree work/thinking-level;
• Thorough working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics);
• Excellent working knowledge and ability to use office software;
• Good knowledge of how Operations works and what their needs are to be able to meet and succeed our customer’s needs;
• English language required;
• Preferred affinity with technique (mechanics, electronics, basic IT).
