We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to support our Netherlands & Belgium team with daily financial operations and reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and experience working in an international environment, along with fluency in English and Dutch.

Your responsibilities

  • Providing hands-on operational support to the ZIM Netherlands & Belgium Accounting team
  • Assisting in ensuring compliance with internal and external processes, procedures, and requirements, including legal, tax, HR, reporting, contractual, insurance, and other corporate and administrative obligations
  • Supporting the achievement of team targets and maintaining a 100% back-up structure within the small team
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of all accounting tasks and procedures within the team to ensure operational continuity
  • Acting as a key contact point for accounting matters and supporting the Country Manager and Regional Finance functions
  • Assisting with financial reporting, controls, and process improvements within the department

Your profile

  • Certified Accountant (Finance/Accounting/Reporting/Taxes)
  • Professional experience in accounting/finance roles within international or global companies
  • Strong analytical skills, high reliability, and professional work ethic
  • Team-oriented mindset with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid knowledge of Finance & Accounting principles and strong MS Office skills
  • Experience with SAP and knowledge of the shipping industry are considered advantages
  • Languages: Fluent business English and Dutch (required)
  • Willingness to participate in regional and global Finance projects
