AkzoNobel’s sophisticated global Information Management (IM) function provides IT Services to all the businesses and functions. IM is fully accountable for achieving agreed financial targets and other objectives as it helps AkzoNobel to deliver leading performance and achieve business success. Thus it incorporates an international and high performance Finance team that provides full insight into IM’s financial performance.
Within this context, your mission in this role is to take full ownership of cost controlling for a wide range of high profile IM Projects. Amongst these projects are global ERP implementations, but also projects IM delivers for the different businesses and functions. Additional examples of possible IM projects are projects related to CRM, Logistic, HR and Mergers and Acquisitions. You will track actual project costs and collaborative intensively with project managers on forecasting of costs. You will do the monthly financial closing and reporting of the projects. This requires you to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders as you report to the Global Functional Controller IM and will work closely with IM and the Global Process Owners.

Project controller IM
This position is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and involves a number of activities as you act as a finance business partner for the IM project managers and Global Process Owners.
Thus you perform month end closing activities in line with IFRS/webFEM, assuring timely analysis on OPEX and CAPEX project costs impacting the P&L and the balance sheet. You make sure the costs are posted and settled on the appropriate accounting lines and follow up on the received input and allocations.
In addition, you support in prioritizing the projects and bring insights on the stage-gate and percentage of completion of the projects versus the actual spend compared to budget. Also you will flag timely if a project is in danger of an overrun and work together with the project manager on the planning of the future costs. You also perform reviews after the finalization of the project and report on the obtained savings and financial project successes.
