The DAF engine hardware and design department is responsible for all engine hardware within the PACCAR organization. These engines are used worldwide by the various PACCAR divisions such as DAF, Kenworth and Peterbilt. In addition, engines are being developed for independent bus builders.
As Engineer Engine Development you are managed for the development of new constructions for the various engines (possibly in collaboration with the supplier) and you supervise this design in the design group (s). You focus on your specialty cable harnesses. You take into account the various aspects of the engine and consult with colleagues and suppliers. In case of problems, you purposefully search for the best solutions. You initiate and supervise trials. In addition, you analyze the test results and start any follow-up actions. You work according to Design For Six Sigma techniques. In this position you work as an assisting foreman and manage 2 of the 3 persons of your team.
For this challenging position we would like to get in touch with candidates with a technical education at WO / HTS level, preferably Mechanical Engineering from Automotive Engineering. Knowledge of engines and cable harnesses is a must. You work independently, systematically and structurally. You have an analytical mind, bent proactively and cost conscious. You have extensive experience in constructing in CREO and you have experience with SABER. You also need to be able to apply the DFSS techniques or be able to familiarize yourself quickly. You have good communication and social skills and you master the English language in speech and writing and Dutch is an advantage.
