Master Data Specialist

The role and its responsibilities
Working from Arnhem the Netherlands, your core function is to process material master data requests for BASC in the SAP Atlas system. You are ultimately responsible for the validity, cleanliness and logic of the data entered into SAP, and gatekeeper for all individual account additions and changes within SAP.
This requires you to perform all basic Master Data functions and ensure that all internal processes are observed. Thus you interpret and provide documentation behind changes to internal and external auditors. You also ensure data quality and evaluate for redundancies. You evaluate, communicate and correct any inconsistencies on the initial input request. Further, you collect data, prepare and distribute lists and reports, and meet or exceed SLA requirements.
At all times you communicate with the user community and stakeholders to ensure correctness and completeness, and update the records of material master data. In addition you work to reduce data redundancy and enhance the overall data quality.
Finally, you train new MDM colleagues.
All of this demands an ability to identify key areas of opportunity for improvement, along with a talent for interacting and effectively communicating with AkzoNobel departments and external partners and suppliers.

- Bachelors degree and, preferably, experience with (material) master data;
- Relevant industry background and at least two years of experience with SAP and basic knowledge of networking platforms;
- Ability to interact and effectively communicate with all departments within the organization and partner companies;
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills combined with good people skills;
- Fluent written and spoken Dutch and English;
- Enthusiastic person who can contribute to a dynamic team but also able working independently.
