Our customer, a world leading marine contractor in the offshore oil and gas industry, is looking for an Infrastructure Network Engineer.
The ICT department is responsible to provide and to maintain information systems as in use by employees in the Leiden office, all foreign offices and our crane and supporting vessels. A new crane vessel with an integrated communication network is being designed and built with support of ICT department.
The ICT Department uses a central model to provide all ICT services around the globe and standardization & uniformity are key aspects of our solutions. The ICT department is organized in three groups: Process & Systems, Applications and Infrastructure.
The Infrastructure group is further separated to Desktops & Users, Servers & Storage; and Network & Telephony teams. All the teams work closely together and support each-other to achieve the common ICT Infrastructure department goals.
Description of the function
The ICT Network Engineer will be a member of ICT Infrastructure Network & Telephony Team, reporting to the Manager Infrastructure. Day-to-day operational team activities are overseen and coordinated by a dedicated Network & Telephony team leader.
The candidate is responsible for the maintenance, development and the support of the network and communication systems. The network environment consists of one local area network per site including one on each vessel. All sites and vessels are part of the wide area network based on internet virtual private networks and include satellite components.
All backbone network and telephony components are based on Cisco hardware and software. Additional tasks may include but are not limited to firewall management and support of CCTV and IPTV systems and services.
Thorough understanding of Switching/ Routing; LAN & WAN network technologies;
Understanding of corporate wireless networks;
Cisco routing & switching certification preferred (hands on experience is a must);
At least 1-3 years of experience in network administrator role;
Experience with administering of Cisco based telephony systems;
Experience with administering of Fortigate corporate firewall appliances;
Experience with administering of IP based CCTV systems;
Knowledge of Windows Server Systems, VMware and Linux is a pre;
Willingness to travel, including regular visits to our crane vessels;
Experience with ICT in remote locations is a pre;
Good communication skills;
Flexible in mind and in work attitude;
Good command in the English and the Dutch language.
Het salaris voor deze rol ligt tussen de 2745,- en 3660,- obv 40 uur.
