Director Security and Compliance, EMEAASILVERLANE

Introduction

SILVERLANE is the recruitment firm dedicated to Leaders and Managers driving change.

Our client is a global leader in airport logistics. It generates nearly €3 billion in revenue and employs over 25,000 people worldwide.

As an authorized agent, the Group is subject to regular audits by aviation authorities and must guarantee the maintenance of impeccable regulatory and operational standards.

Following an internal mobility, it has been decided to recruit a new EMEAA Security Director.

Reporting to the Vice President of Safety & Security, you will work in a highly regulated environment, at the heart of the security challenges of air freight transport.

Your responsibilities

Your priority:

to guarantee and maintain an impeccable level of security standards and compliance throughout the EMEAA region.

More specifically, you will be responsible for the following missions:

  • Fostering a vibrant security community within the EMEAA region; promoting the sharing of best practices,
  • Continuously assessing the skill level of regional security managers; defining expected standards and identifying training needs,
  • Actively monitoring technological innovations, developing trusting relationships with equipment suppliers, and ensuring relevant information is available to teams,
  • Maintaining regular and constructive relationships with security authorities in the region (General Services, Police, Customs, etc.) to identify specific threats,
  • Cultivating trusting, fluid, and friendly relationships with civil aviation authorities, primarily the French authorities, who wield significant influence in the region.

In addition, you will lead an internal audit team covering safety, security, environment, and quality. A Lead Auditor, responsible for this team, will report directly to you.

Your role is twofold:

  • To continuously enhance the auditors' skill and expertise,
  • To optimize and develop tools, frameworks, and questionnaires to ensure reliable, effective audits that are perfectly aligned with operational realities on the ground.

You will thus be at the heart of the risk management framework, in a strategic role that combines regulatory requirements, cross-functional leadership, and operational excellence.

Ideally, you have the following profile:

  • You hold a Master's degree (or equivalent), such as a degree from ENAC (French National School of Civil Aviation).
  • You must have significant experience in the aviation sector.
  • You have at least 10 years of professional experience, including a significant period as a Security Manager/Director in an international environment, within a group specializing in air freight.
  • You are fluent in English and you speak French well.
  • You are a unifying and structuring leader, capable of delivering a clear vision of security in an international, operational, and high-risk environment.
  • You know how to lead and unite multicultural security communities, create a common approach, and engage teams around shared objectives.
  • With strong leadership and excellent interpersonal skills, you manage international teams with high standards and empathy. Your ability to combine strategic vision, practical experience, and cross-functional collaboration will enable you to ensure the long-term security of the group's activities within a complex global context. Occasional travel will be required (approximately one week every two months).
